Logline Oli is a 99 year old housebound, eccentric ex-headmistress and millionaire, whose daily struggle is increased by a world that seems to have forgotten her as she lives in her rat infested condemned home with her Shetland pony . Synopsis In 1953, Oli won £35,000 on the English Pools (UK Lottery), which would equate to the approximately £1million today. Through a moving account of her life, the film reveals how money doesn’t always bring happiness. What should have been a life of luxury after her lotto cash has become a story of struggle and defiance until the end. Following Oli for over 6 years, the film explores her eccentric definition of independence as she refuses to leave her condemned home for fear of losing her freedom. The film reveals the extremes of her life with faeces and maggot infested plates to her friendship with a live-in pony and regular visits by a beautician, even though she hasn’t had a bath in six years! ‘I Won’t Go’ is a intimate documentary capturing the unique insight of a determined, lively, unconventional elderly woman who has lived a full life educating and inspiring new generations. georgina Hurcombe teaching Bridging the gap
Georgina Hurcombe Has been working on her own documentary I Wont Go fo the last seven years and recently won the FOUR DOCS ( CH4) completion fund bursary. The documentary is currently in post production . Georgina recently developed the innovative project ‘Bridging The Gap’ and Shooting the Gap with V and HSBC bank which aims to educate young people on this issues of elderly and isolation and help a new generation explore what they can do to “bridge the gap” between the old and the young through Documentary film making and photography Georgina is also currently developing ‘Shooting the Gap ‘A photographical project examining the generation gap. Georgina was voted and a runner up in Volunteer of the year awards
Future Shorts Bournemouth – Festival Manager – 650 Guests Georgina Hurcombe: Festival manager for Future Shorts Bournemouth Georgina Hurcombe attracted over 650 guests and Hollywood industry experts including Ian Softly ( K Paxx, Hackers) , Roger Pratt (Troy, Harry Potter), Eric Harwood ( Boy whose skin fell off and Ashley Rowe ( Calendar Girls, Alfie. The event attracted major sponsorship from Production Base, Odeon, Panavision, BFI etc. Georgina managed the festival from concept, AV, Marketing, sponsorship, to AV and VIP guest speakers and ambassador’s.
